Couples Therapy

Maintaining healthy relationships can be challenging for most couples, but adding to the mix differing neurotypes or late-discovered neurodiversity can make things even more complex. I am here to support you in exploring your lived experience, both as a couple and as individuals, to help you make sense of your patterns and relational needs.

Quite often what is said and what is heard are two very different things. In our work together, we can start to navigate misalignments in your relationship through the lens of neurodiversity, taking into consideration Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) or traits of masking, people pleasing and fawning, which can all shape how we are perceived.

In couples therapy, we will focus on supporting the wellbeing of your relationship by exploring communication styles and thinking about what other factors may be shaping your experiences, from childhood behaviours and belief systems to family dynamics. This work can be beneficial for couples at all stages of life, whether you are navigating late diagnosis, feeling stuck, misunderstood or working through a significant life change.

This work is also beneficial for couples who may be supporting a child unable to access education due to severe anxiety, or experiencing other challenges in relation to their neurodiversity or identity. These situations often affect the whole family, resulting in emotional exhaustion, secondary trauma, career sacrifices and detrimental cycles of blame.  Forest & Bee offers a safe and non-judgemental space for you to share and process your feelings, enabling you to get back to a place of supportive and collaborative parenting.

Couples therapy sessions are from 60 to 80 minutes, depending on your individual needs.
